Three Good Reasons To Run Today

Getting out the door can be hard. You're tired. It's cold outside. You have other priorities. And on and on and on.

As quoted by Bill Rodgers: "In the 30 years I've been a runner I've run more than 150,000 miles. Still, some of the hardest steps I take are those first few getting out the door for daily runs."

Here are three good reasons to run today:

  1. You'll be glad you did. Nobody ever wishes they wouldn't have run when they come back inside. You're sweaty, you're tired, and you're happy with yourself. Satisfaction is a good thing.

  2. Clear your head of the days problems. If you're running with a nut job, chances are they will be running so fast that you won't have time to worry about all of the little annoyances of the day. You will be living in the moment, just trying to survive.
  3. It keeps you regular. "Exercise isn't just good for the heart. It's good for your bowels too", according to Edward R. Eichner, MD (Chief of Hematology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma).

So go out and run today. You'll be satisfied, clear-headed and your colin will thank you.

Eat, run and be happy everyone.
