It's All About Wii

It's All About Wii

As we begin this years Marathon Training, something new is creeping into our cross training. It's fun, it's challenging and it's great for strengthening the core muscles. They call it The Wii.

Right now, Wii Fit and Dance Revolution are my favorite programs on the Wii.

The Wii Fit offers yoga stretches, balance games, and aerobics. There is also a great series of strength exercises. Take the plank challenge and get those abs working.

If you've secretly wanted to be the hottest dancer on Earth, check out the Groove arena in Dance Revolution. You will work up a sweat in no time. Just be sure to keep your curtains closed. The neighbors don't need to see this.

I realize that there is some controversy about Wii exercising. Read Runners Worlds' less than kind Wii-kend Warriors article.

Well, the nice thing about writing a blog that nobody reads is that I can get as controversial as I want and nobody cares.

I love Wii Fit. I start out the day with yoga. Then after work I run outside in the real world with my nutjob partner, (hereinafter referred to as nutjob #1), who looks a bit like the Mii in the picture to your left.

Later on at night I work off the post run burgers and beer by jumping back on the Wii Dance Mat for some Dance Revolution.

It's good to shake things up a little and have fun. And that's what Wii does for Mii.

How about you? Any comments?

Watch out Akron, here we come!!!

  1. I am way better looking than that Mii guy! He does have some dynamite moves though. You'd better be nice to me or that easy run may turn into a tempo run.
