Goat Island

If you are ever on the American side of Niagara Falls, New York and you are a runner, you have to visit Goat Island.

As long as you are there, you might as well run Pow Hill (the legendary training hill leading to the Power Authority). Note - please respect all signs that say, "Falling Rocks" or "Do Not Go Past This Electrified Fence". The NY Power Authority is not known for their sense of humor.

But getting past that, Niagara Falls is a beautiful place to run. Hill workout? They've got it. Trail runs? They've got it. Nut Job Runners? They LOVE this place!

If you're looking for a challenging run and you're in the area, this is the place to go! Warning - if your trail guide is a nut job, he will be prone to lead you down trails that dead end, leaving you no choice but to climb steep, rock walls or double back up the way you came.

Which leads me to Lesson number two - WHAT RUNS DOWN, MUST EVENTUALLY RUN BACK UP!
